World Wide Knit in Public Day
June 10, 2017
Please join us for sitting and knitting and eating and smiling and wonderful handcraft fellowship! Beginning at noon and closing down at 6pm you can come in anytime to our KIP (Knit In Public) at Studio 17. This event features a trunk show of locally made organic cotton yarn from Stony Hill Fiberarts, and our new selection of knitting needles by Twin Birch of Siler City, NC.
If you spin yarn or make supplies that other knitters would be interested in, bring them with you and we’ll have a “swap ‘n sell” while we knit.
Bring your own chair and maybe something yummy to share, we’ll serve tea and wine.
Knit In Public Day was begun in Brittain and has spread over the world. Visit the Worlwide Knit In Public website for the whole story, you’ll love it!
May 13, 2017
Come and visit our booth at the Abundance NC, Climate Carnival from noon to 8pm on Saturday May 13th. The carnaval is a big, positive event noting the change in the earth’s climate and highlighting what we can do about it. Studio 17 will be on hand helping people to understand the impact of fast fashion on our planet and showing examples of how we can clean up the garment industry. Julie will be giving a presentation entitled “Your Clothes Can Change the Weather”.
Earth Day Sale
10 – 20% off all fabric items
This is just our little contribution to Earth Day, we want you to come in and see how we’re helping the earth with our little store.
Spring Opening Reception
April 1, 2017
On Saturday, April first we celebrated our first event together – a welcoming of Spring and the opening of Fiberactive’s entry into Studio 17. The afternoon began at 2pm with music and friends, food and wine.
The party spilled out onto the sidewalk where a soft breeze carried the music to all the local shoppers.
We want to thank everybody that made our day so wonderful!
We hope you’ll stop in and see us again soon!
